Available to full-time Māori undergraduate students undertaking study in a course that encourages and promotes the maintenance of Māori language, Māori history, Māori tradition and/or Māori culture, with priority given to students with academic merit. The scholarship is administered for the Ministry of Education and the Ngārimu VC & 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Board, which was established to honour the memory of Māori soldiers who served in World War II and in particular those who served in the 28th Māori Battalion. The Board was established under the Ngārimu VC & 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Act 1945. This is a recurring scholarship. Value: $5,000.
